About Us

History Of IMDID

The International Model Diplomats for Integrated Development (IMDID) was founded in January 2014 with the mission to provide innovative educational opportunities to the youth for better understanding of their role in issues of global and domestic civil society and to encourage awareness, tolerance and acceptance of the world’s people, cultures, beliefs, attitudes and values by organising or promoting conferences and international forums. As the organisation evolved, value added such as creating an environment where leadership is practised has become part of IMDID.

IMDID as a non-profit youth-led volunteering organisation was conceived by a Ghanaian Human Resource Professional, Gilbert Reinall Addo after he volunteered with a Ghanaian based youth development group and, despite having a great time and developing personally, he was disillusioned with the relevance of the volunteer work he contributed to for social change, and Janet Owurani, an experienced Educationist and Child Development Expert came along with with her experiences to provide career guidance and counselling for children whose life has been disrupted  by certain socio- economic issues. Together, they called on Raymond Eduafo, a Banker and radical lifestyle activist; his starting point was to pull financial support for the initiative, volunteering and supporting to get the first Programs Coordinating Office at Roman Hill, Winneba in March 2014. The current Principal Founders of the organisation includes; Patricia Tinkorang, Charles Adzam, David Dawson and Maxwell Beganim, who by their efforts and commitment were conferred honorary co-founders in 2017 during the 2nd Global Youth Diplomacy Conference.

Today, IMDID is globally connected to connected to  youth leaders and volunteers in several countries such as  Ghana, Gambia, Cameroon, Mali, Togo, Benin Republic, Sierra Leone, Madagascar, Liberia, Rwanda and Guinea, with a Global Network having members from, Canada, Tanzania, South Africa, Mexico and still expanding its network to challenge the youth and provide a platform to rise to perform their civic responsibilities in order to see the manifestation of the better future they so wish for their society.
